Employment and Labor Law in the Arab Mediterranean Countries and the Euromediterranean Partnership

This study here, which was prepared with the expert help of a group of qualified professionals from the eight countries represented (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and Jordan), is the first of its kind: the comparative analysis of the development of employment problems in these countries in connection with the processes of the Euromed association, promoted by the conference held in Barcelona in 1995. An advanced draft of this document was presented to the Euromed Labor Ministers Conference held in Berlin in March of last year. The study was conducted within the framework of the ?Regional Euromediterranean Labor Union Cooperation Project? of the ?Program for the Strengthening of Labor Union Organizations Phases II?, co financed by the Fundación Paz y Solidaridad Serafín Aliaga (Serafín Aliaga Peace and Solidarity Foundation) of the Comisiones Obreras (CCOO) labor union, and the Spanish government?s International Cooperation Agency (AECI).
